If you're worried that your artwork may not be suitable for screen printing, we can advice you of any potential problems and help sort everything out for a high quality print job. The key to a bright crisp finished screen print is making sure your artwork is correct from the start.
PREFERRED ARTWORK DETAILS
Whilst we are PC based and generally receive artwork as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, MAC files can normally be retrieved also.
WE PREFER ARTWORK IN THE FOLLOWING FORMATS:
CorelDraw - Version X7 or earlier
Please ensure that all fonts are converted to curves and provided in CDR or CMX format. Read about vectored artwork with CorelDraw.
Adobe Illustrator CS3 - or earlier
Please ensure that all fonts are converted to outlines and provided in EPS or AI formats.
Adobe Photoshop CS3 - or earlier
Please maintain all layers when saving. Ideally supply images on a transparent background. Artwork must be 300 dpi or higher, the size of artwork at the size to be printed. Understanding basic artwork quality in PhotoShop.
Adobe Acrobat
All of the above programs are able to save your artwork as a PDF file which will reduce the size of the artwork for email, this is ideal for emailing your artwork to us. Please remember to save as ‘for prepress’ to maintain quality.
If you can’t get hold of your image in any of the above formats, don’t worry just send through the best quality image you have and we’ll try to sort everything out for you.
ABOUT TAKING IMAGES FROM THE WEB
Customers quite often have trouble getting hold of good artwork. Quite often we are sent artwork that has been saved from the web. Unfortunately web graphics are mostly low in resolution ( poor image quality ). However some images on the web do have good resolution. To help you find the best quality logo / image take a look at the size of the image (the amount of pixels on that particular image), basically the higher the amount of pixels the better. Send through the best you can find and we’ll take a look and advise you if it’s OK for print purposes. NO CHARGE FOR ASKING!
Don’t worry if you can’t find anything, most often our artwork department can sort things out to achieve a good print result. Sometimes this may take a bit of time, but we’ll be happy to give you a quote to reproduce the artwork to a good quality.
Image formats you might come across on the web are: JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG. All of these are possible formats to produce your artwork from.
ARTWORK ONLY SERVICE
As many of trade customers use CUTTER PLOTTER facilities to produce small quantities or garments. We understand this technology is part of a growing industry and like help our customers. So we now offer our expertise in producing VECTOR images of the highest quality for cutter plotter machines.
We can produce vector logo’s/images engineered especially for the cutter plotter customer. No cheap automated trace option as offered by other web sites. Our graphics are designed with the cutting process in mind. Quicker cutting times, with the minimum of nodes possible, ( TIME IS MONEY ).
PRINT COLOURS
As most printers we us the ‘Pantone’ solid colour matching system for colour reference. This could prove very useful to make sure your colours in your design come out just as you like them.
When we send you your email proof as we do with all our customers, we state the Pantone colours that the computer guesses are the nearest match to your image/design. All the better if you can let us know what Pantone colours you would like us to print with!
